象牙瓷,顾名思义其色如象牙，白中微黄，质也如象牙般细密。象牙瓷像是高岭土的澄浆，加上钙（细骨粉）类的某些原料，采用特殊工艺烧制而成，为瓷器中的创新品种。一般瓷胎硬度太低，而烧成的瓷面硬度过高过脆，都不易雕琢。
象牙瓷挑选与养护：
1.一定用手清洗，不可用洗碗机。若真不愿意用手洗，则要选择有“瓷器及水晶”类洗涤功能的洗碗机。
2.有金边的餐具，勿放入微波炉，以免腐蚀。
3.洗涤PH值必须在11-11.5之间。
4.用清水洗净时，水温不超过80℃。
5.勿将热杯直接浸入冷水中，以免温度迅速改变损伤瓷质。
6.如有刮花，可以用牙膏略打磨。
7.如有茶渍，可用柠檬汁或食醋清洗。
8.最好不要骤泠骤热使用，以免炸裂。
9.不要用明火直接烧用。
