感光变色：吸收阳光、紫外线能量，产生颜色变化；当失去阳光、紫外线能量后，还原成本来的颜色。变色要求：浅变深。参考光变样品，遇到太阳，无色变粉色。离开阳光，变回无色。
荧光变色：先吸收各种光能，转换成能量储存，然后在黑暗中以荧光方式缓慢释放能量，并可无限次数循环使用，对阳光及紫外光有较快的吸收效果。参考样品，夜光变色。
以上三种变色布不含对人体有害物质，符合国家玩具、食品安全要求标准。
