“凡用艾叶，须用陈久者，令软细，谓之熟艾；若生艾，艾灸则。”故在选用艾绒时，多用陈艾绒为宜。在艾灸过程中， 为10:1以下的艾绒适合做温和灸，10:1以上的 艾绒可做直接灸。根据艾绒，制作人们日常生活中用品，如艾绒肚兜、枕头、坐垫、鞋垫、艾绒衣物、等）及艾绒被子和艾绒泡脚袋、沐浴包等艾绒制品。
