【生长特点】一二年生植物，紫色，因农历二月开，得名二月兰，株高30-50cm。

1、耐寒性强，冬季常绿。又比较耐阴，用作地被，覆盖效果良好，叶绿葱葱，一片碧绿，使人喜爱。

2、适生性强。从东北、华北，直至华东、华中都能生长。冬季如遇重霜及下雪，有些叶片虽然也会受冻，但早春照样能萌发新叶、开和结实。对土壤要求不严。

3、紫色，从下到上陆续开放，2～6月开不断，尤其是群栽时，就像一片蓝紫色的海洋。如种植在河边、海堤，绿叶—海—海水—蓝天交织在一起，十分壮观。

4、二月兰具有较强的自繁能力，一次播种年年能自成群落。每年5～6月种子成熟后，自行落入土中，9月长出绿苗，小苗越冬，晚春开，夏天结籽，年年延续。在园林绿地、林带、公园、住宅小区、高架桥下常有种植，作为观地被应用。种源充裕，价格便宜，播种每平方米只需几角钱。因此被很多绿化工程、公园、旅游景点所采用。建议在机场成片种植二月兰，不仅冬天披绿，春天紫成片，而且它能延续自繁，毋需过多养护，能与其他植物混种，是集多种优点于一体的品种。

【园林绿化】

1、宜栽于庭院、林下、林缘、住宅小区、高架桥下、山坡下或草地边缘，即可独立成片种植，也可与各种灌木混栽，形成春景特色。

2、可在公园、林缘、城市街道、高速公路或铁路两侧的绿化带大量应用，大面积开成片，绿化、美化效果好。可用喷播方式进行高速公路边坡绿化，。自播繁衍的种子在6月中下旬能在上一代植株刚枯萎时就已长出新幼苗，所以，也就基本不会出现土地裸露，高速公路边坡绿化植物材料。

3、作为坛卉，二月兰的中高性状，适应性强和早春开等特性可用作早春坛。

【栽培繁殖】首先整理地面，将土壤翻疏松，均匀的撒上种子，在种子上薄薄的撒上一层土，可用草帘子遮挡强阳光，见到出苗后及时撤掉遮挡物，一般10天左右就出苗，建议每平米播种3-5克。
