钎焊可以实现金刚石、结合剂、金属基体三者之间的化学冶金结合，具有较高的结合强度，仅需将结合层厚度维持在磨粒高度的20%～30%就能在大负荷高速高效磨削中牢固地把持住磨粒，使钎焊砂轮的磨粒裸露高度可达70%～80%，因而增大了容屑空间，不易堵塞，磨料的利用更加充分。
该工艺的优点是钎焊温度低，对金刚石的损伤小。缺点是银基钎料的熔点较低，耐磨削高温性能较差,所以亲要带水使用！
