夹炭无纺布是采用多层不同过滤性能的非织布中间夹炭，进行有序复合而成。它具有布匹材料之物理特性（强度、柔韧、耐用性），又具有活性炭的吸附和微孔过滤性能。主要用于汽车厢内空气净化，能吸附车内的异味、异臭如：苯、甲苯、二氧化硫、硫氢化合物、氨等污染气体，尤其对烟雾有显著的吸附效果同时还能过滤尘埃粒子等。
汽车过滤器设计成褶皱式的结构，有效地加大过滤面积，提高吸附过滤性能，延长使用寿命。减少过滤器的空气阻力，压降较小，在一定风量条件下即可净化环境。
