涡流纱中纤维的平行伸直度较差，成纱的结构与环锭纱不同,所以涡流纱的强 力较环锭纱低,成纱的条干均匀度一般接近环锭纱的水平，但短片段的粗细不匀较环锭纱显著。涡流纱的结构膨松，吸色性好。为了使纺成的纱具有一定的强 力和条干水平，要求喂入的纤维具有较好的整齐度和适当的长度。因此，涡流纺纱比较适宜于化纤纯纺或混纺的粗中号纱,用作起绒纱,或用以纺包芯纱。涡流纺纱单产水平和制成率都比较高,由于在负压条件下纺纱，车间飞花少，劳动条件好。产品可用作毛毯、围巾、服装和装饰用织物。
