人棉纱就是粘胶纱，粘胶纤维是指从木材和植物藁杆等纤维素原料中提取的 α－纤维素，或以棉短绒为原料，经加工成纺丝原液，再经湿法纺丝制成的人造纤维。人造棉光泽好，手感较光滑，和全棉的棉纱放在一起比较还是容易分辨的，特别是织成坯布就更容易区分了，织造效率高，所成织物疵点少。粘胶纤维织物的吸湿性能在化纤中差，但是穿着染色性比合成纤维都要好粘胶纤维手感柔软，色泽艳丽，优于其他化纤织物，尤其是具有光人造丝织成的纯纺与角质丝绸，锦缎等，起色彩夺目，关泽柔亮。
