养身陶是经高温1200摄氏度烧制而成，从砂锤炼出来的陶，由矿物质颗粒组成，含铁量较高，显微结构中存在大量的团聚壮，具有双气孔，一种是团聚内部的气孔，另一种是包裹在团聚体周围的气孔群，且大部份属于开口型气孔，由于这种特质，它能过滤杂质，吸收杂气，由于它具有比较高的气孔率，使其具有很强透气性，对食物具有“暑月越宿”不馊作用，
平时清洗浸入冷水冲洗，再用热水冲洗一遍，元气即可恢复。
