阳离子纱是属于改性涤纶，化学名：聚对苯二甲酸丁二酯（弹性聚酯），缩写：PBT，在工厂也有用CD表示的。因为普通的涤纶（聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯）存在吸湿低，染色性能差，容易积聚静电，易起毛等缺点，因此通常用磺酸盐做改性剂改性成可用阳离子染料染色的改性涤纶，或在纺丝前或纺织过程中加入阳离子活性剂来制备改性涤纶，这样的纱叫阳离子纱,这种纱就不需要想通常的涤纶那样高温染色,常温就可以染色了。
